Procedure for using Dual IMSI SIM card for International Roaming

International Roaming:

MTNL is providing International Roaming on its GSM cellular Mobile services in more than 170 countries world-wide covering all the major countries of the World. International Roaming is being provided by MTNL using two methods: 

(i)   Using direct Roaming agreement: MTNL is providing International Roaming directly in about 36 countries, as per list given in Annexure – A, in association with its Roaming partner in these countries. Dolphin customers can use the International facility in these countries using normal SIM card provided by MTNL after activation of ISD & international roaming facility in their SIM. 
(ii)   Using Dual IMSI SIM card:  MTNL is offering International Roaming facility in about 166 countries (as per list given in Annexure - B) using dual IMSI SIM cards. For using International roaming in these countries, Dolphin customer needs to get Dual IMSI SIM in place of normal SIM already available with them and get activated ISD & International roaming on the Dual IMSI SIM card.  

Procedure for Using Dual IMSI SIM Cards: 

          Dual IMSI SIM card is like a normal SIM card except that it has been embedded with two IMSIs i.e. one for MTNL Dolphin network & other for MTNL Roaming Agreement partner in India. Dual IMSI SIM card contains an extra ‘Menu’ item for Roaming in it i.e.  

In Menu à Dolphin à Roaming à ‘Roam Abroad’ or 
   ‘Back to India’    
(a)   While going out of India in any country specified in list at Annexure-B, please go to menu option as indicated below: 

Menu à Dolphin à Roaming à ’Roam Abroad’ 

and register your SIM in the MTNL’s Roaming partner network in that country. If no network is get selected in Automatic Network Selection, you may use Manual Network Selection & get registered your SIM in the network.

(b) After returning back to India, please select the option ‘Back to India’ in Roaming menu as indicated below:

 Menu à Dolphin à Roaming à ‘Back to India’   

You will get register in MTNL Dolphin Network (in Delhi & Mumbai) or in BSNL network (if elsewhere in India).  
Note:  
1.    In some countries e.g. USA, Canada etc. Tri-band Mobile handset will be required.
2.     MTNL has direct Roaming agreement in some countries where the procedure listed above at (a) may not be required.
